Cavallet de Mer Formentera Ring

2014 in Formentera. I took advantage of the fact that my partner was working on preparing for the season and I went there for a few days. I was walking on the empty beaches full of shells ... And walking, walking, I found a seahorse, already dry, in the sand. A few years later, when I started making jewelry, I thought it might look nice ... and here's the proof. If it is true that she brings good luck, I hope to share it with you.

The seahorse ring is adjustable. I still do it in 3 different sizes because if it is forced into access, it could break. Starting from the same mold (this is also what I do with the Formentera seahorse bracelet and earrings), the only way to gain length is to unscrew the tail. Thus, the larger the size of the ring, the less twisted the tail will be. Other than that, being open-minded is always a bit of a stretch.

To give it a round ring shape, I heat the silver with the blower. With heat, the silver becomes softer and can be molded to the shape of the ring. At the desired point, the ring is struck so that it stiffens and does not bend easily. So, once finished, the ring can be adjusted a little, but not too much because the silver is no longer so malleable.

SIZES: The seahorse Formentera measures 2.3 cm at its widest point and has a thickness of 2 mm. The ring is available in three sizes (adjustable): S (9-11), M (12-14) and L (15-17). If you need to, consult our <Size Guide>.
